The Walt Disney Studios have produced some of the most highly sort after memorabilia and collectibles of all time. There is one product that stands out most as having the largest impact and influence on the lives of so many. Over the years the humble piggy bank has not only taught many children around the world the skills needed for saving money. They also gave many of us a sense of pride every time we managed to save up enough money to buy that new toy or see how much money we were putting into our bank accounts.

How Much are Hummel Plates Worth?

While the majority of antique enthusiasts know of or collect Hummel Figurines, the later produced Hummel Plates were not as widely collected. The first line of Hummel figurines were produced during 1935 but it wasn’t until 1971 that the annual Hummel Plates were released.

While some Hummel Figurines are priced well into the thousands, their cousins, the Hummel Plates are worth a lot less.

Production: The Original Hummel Annual Plates were produced from 1971 until 1995.

Crocks, earth-ware pots or jars have been made for centuries, hand crafted in multiple countries around the world. It is thought crocks originated in France, although it wasn’t until the 1900’s that these stone kitchenware items were found in every American household. Crocks have many uses and continue to be used in modern day society. During the early 1900’s women would often store hand made butter or pickles in crocks. Today, many choose to use crocks as pot plants or to hold decorative items. The many timeless uses of crocks have made them increasingly popular amongst antique collectors.

Vintage Fisher Price Children’s Toys and Their Value in Today’s Society – Made Prior to 1965

Some of these toys you may have played with when you were younger. Or perhaps you remember your own children owning these toys. Fisher Price has produced beloved children’s toys since 1930 and continues to produce high quality toys today. Many Fisher Price toys released in the early production years are now classed as ‘vintage‘ and are highly sought after by toy collectors. In this article, you can find the value for popular vintage Fisher Price toys made prior to 1965.

Fisher Price ‘Doctor Doodle Toy’ – 1931

Made in the first year of the company being open is one of Fisher Price’s most famous pull toys, ‘Doctor Doodle’. When a child pulls this toy, the duck’s neck goes up and down and his bill opens and closes. In the earliest editions, the wheels were blue but were later changed to orange in 1932.  The duck carries a medical bag by his side, wears a black top hat and a blue coat. Each edition of ‘Doctor Doodle’ measures approximately 7 inches tall.

Popular Royal Doulton Fine Bone China Dinnerware Sets and Their Values

Bone China simply refers to a white porcelain that contains bone ash. The bone ash in this particular porcelain allows thin but strong plates and saucers to be created. ‘Royal Albert’, a sister company to ‘Royal Doulton’, is one of the most well known Bone China companies in the world. Their ‘Old Country Roses’ and ‘New Country Roses’ collections are two well known dinnerware sets that sit within many collector’s cupboards. Although Royal Albert is more commonly known for beautiful bone China dinner sets, Royal Doulton has an extensive list of their own.

Bone China has been made in Britain since the early 1800’s and the Royal Doulton company began creating their own pieces soon after in 1815. The Royal Doulton company use a soft-paste porcelain that contains more than 35% tricalcium orthophosphate. Their china pieces are comprised of a strong porcelain making them hard, durable and water repellent. Here’s 15 Such Hummels That Have Gone Into Retirement

1. Barnyard Hero

First modeled in 1948 by master sculptor Reinhold Unger.

Originaly made as 3.75″-4″ figurines.

More sizes were released in the mid 1950’s, 5.50″ and 5.75″-6″.

With the larger 195/I (5.75″-6″) being put into retirement in January of 1999.
