As with most of the characters created in the Depression Era, a time in which World War II was looming on the horizon, Buck Rogers was a fighter for freedom and justice. Set in the 25th Century allowed the use of imagination in the plots of the stories. Buck was involved in space travel, futuristic cities, ray guns and after World War II atomic weapons.
